Yes. OraSoothe provides an environment that is conducive to optimal healing. It is very gentle to oral tissues, unlike most other products used for mouth ulcers, and will not slow the healing process. In fact, OraSoothe contains nutrients that are used by cells involved in wound healing. Studies have shown that wounds that contain a high concentration of these nutrients can heal at an optimal rate.

No. OraSoothe passes the USP preservative challenge test. In addition, it has been tested against microbes that are involved in development of dental caries, periodontal disease and other conditions, and inhibits their growth.

OraSoothe has a very mild flavor. Most people report that it doesn’t interfere with their sense of taste.

Just as some spices, citric acids, etc., can feel “hot” to oral tissues, OraSoothe may produce a mild, hot sensation in some individuals upon first application. The gel does not harm the tissues as other products do that contain alcohol or other harsh ingredients, and this sensation quickly dissipates.

The gel contains all natural mannose polysaccharides, xylitol, and oil from cinnamon, clove, wintergreen, and thyme.

First, swishing the gel creates an ultra-thin film that protects the mouth from further irritation and contamination. Second, the negatively-charged gel binds the positively-charged sodium. This prevents the pain signal from being transmitted to the brain. 

OraSoothe does not numb the mouth like topical anesthetics (benzocaine, lidocaine, etc.)  Unlike these drugs, OraSoothe is not absorbed into tissues and does not alter cell physiology.

OraSoothe does not contain ingredients that commonly cause allergies. OraSoothe does not contain wheat, peanuts, tree nuts, soy, etc. However, people can have allergies to other food ingredients. Discontinue use of OraSoothe if you think you are having a reaction.
